St. Lucia has 2 airports; Hewanorra Airport (UVF) is the international airport on the island and SLU is the regional airport.

Airlines that fly into UVF include major carriers like American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, and United. Regional and international airlines such as Air Canada, Caribbean Airlines, KLM, Iberia, InterCaribbean Airways, and WestJet are also options for SLU or UVF depending on your origin airport.

Which airport to choose?

Most of our guests will fly into Hewanorra International Airport (UVF). This is the island's main airport for international flights.

 (SLU) is a smaller regional airport for inter-island flights and connections. Your choice will depend on your origin and whether you plan to travel to other parts of the Caribbean, or if you are arriving from an international destination or the U.S.

Getting Around The Island:

Car rentals are available at the airport HOWEVER please note St. Lucia and is a mountainous volcanic island that drives on the left-hand side. Roads are narrow, winding and can be challenging to navigate. The main highway network is paved and well-maintained but usually has construction along the route that may cause additional slow-downs or delays. We HIGHLY recommend hiring a car/transportation service from the airport to Rodney Bay. The journey will take approximately 1 hour and 30mins to 2 hours drive time from UVF airport.

NOTE: Rodney Bay is easily walkable and also offers local taxi or bus service around the area as needed. Once you arrive in Rodney Bay you may not need a vehicle if you plan to rent one.

Some resorts offer a helicopter transfer options from UVF to SLU which will save drive time. After arriving at SLU via helicopter, you’ll take a private shuttle to Rodney Bay. Drive time from SLU to Rodney Bay is typically about 25-45 minutes depending on traffic. Check with your resort for available options or book directly with https://www.stluciahelicopters.com/ .

Another great option is to take a water taxi from the Airport to Rodney Bay. Book this option for a unique view of the island. You’ll be picked up at the airport via private car and driven to the marina to meet the boat. Once on board you’ll cruise the coast of St. Lucia to Rodney Bay Marina where you’ll meet another private car to take you to your final destination. Ferry service takes about the same time as the drive (90 mins to 2 hours). The ferry includes music, light refreshments, beverages, interesting facts about the island, and you’ll usually have sightings of marine life along the way.
